Mission of Hope Haiti Updates
The church in Leveque needs a few more finishing touches before we swing the doors open!
Other Church Advancement updates:
Check out this photo from English class with the Village Champions. They are beginning to practice translating. The conversations they’re having are AWESOME and they’re even praying over each other to practice translating. The progress has been really amazing. Back in October many had just learned how to introduce themselves, and look where they are now!!
Last Friday we had a party celebrating the 1 year anniversary of Church Advancement and the wonderful Village Champions. Check out this awesome group shot!
Check out this photo of Pastor Oswald praying with a young man who just accepted Jesus Christ!! So cool that this moment could be captured! God is SO GOOD!
Hey everyone, we would like you to meet Jacques, Jean Louis, Frenel and Jean August. These four men are our amazing Village Champions from Simonette. Every morning they get together to pray. They pray for their village, for their families and for the people of Haiti. These men are seen as leaders in Simonette and are the first people that get called whenever something happens in their village. They work as a family and by doing so, they are able to reach every man, woman and child in their village! We are so proud of them!
Check out this photo of our AWESOME Village Champions!! They have mapped each home in their village to know physical and spiritual needs of each family!
Check out this photo of our Village Champions in Bercy speaking about the vision they have for their community as well as what they have been doing so far to make a difference! What and AWESOME team!
Over the weekend the Church Advancement's Biblical Leadership class of 2013 had their graduation. Check out this photo from the ceremony! May God bless these individuals! #churchadvancement #futureleaders
William is a Village Champion in Turpin! Check out this photo of him sharing what God is doing in his village to a group of Pastors who are on a Vision Trip!!
Our Village Champions are working on learning English, and what better book than the Bible to work from!? We are in need of 50 NIV Bibles. These can either be sent to our FL office, brought with you on your next trip to Haiti, or you can simply provide funds to purchase them online at mohhaiti.org. If you donate funds online, choose "Church Advancement" and add "NIV Bibles" into the "Additional Info" field. Thank you in advance for helping to bring life transformation in such a tangible way!
Yesterday was an amazing day! We got to watch our medical translators teach first aid to our village champions. The teaching was great and the students were extremely engaged and asked great questions. We pray this is just the beginning as we hope to roll out our community health curriculum in this same way: Translators teach Village Champions and Village Champions then teach in their villages. It was such a blessing to watch and see our medical team and church advancement team work so well together!
Check out this photo from over the weekend of our Village Champions meeting with their team and casting their vision for the day! Our VCs and teams are so awesome!!
The village champions are hard at work prepping and getting ready for the hundreds of teams coming this summer! Hope to serve with you soon!
We are having electrical wiring installed in our church today in Leveque, Haiti.
The roof of the MOH church in Leveque is almost fully secured and fastened!
Naoki Yao, our clinical Prosthetist, teaches prosthetics patients how to play bird-golf at MOH as part of their physical therapy.
Right now, pastors from all over the country are uniting as one church under God at our pastors conference!
We had a meeting between pastors from Bercy/Leveque area and pastors from Summit/The Chapel(NY) that went really well! Pastor Kenol is doing a great job working with local pastors and connecting them to the vision of MOH. I loved seeing pastors from multiple denominations and cultures sit together and pray together. Still a long way to go, but this was an encouraging step to see MOH is really starting to learn what does and does not work as we approach the goals of Church Advancement!
New sound equipment at Church of Hope! Thank you Miami Vineyard Community Church!
