Intern Vs. Village Champion Soccer Game

The Intern vs. Village Champion soccer game is one of the many joyful events of the summer. A little friendly competition is always fun, but what is so great is that this soccer game reflects the friendships formed from working alongside each other this summer to better serve and bring life transformation to every man, woman, and child in Haiti. Our Village Champions and interns are incredible and we appreciate their faithfulness to the Lord!

Mom's Day!

This week we had two days of ministry for Mom's living in Laboderie and Bercy. We worshipped, had a photo booth set up for the ladies and they each got polaroid pictures, did watercolor painting on the cover of a prayer journal, played games and had two teaching sessions. It was two amazing days of fun for these hard working moms!

Inspirational Story

This week, as our interns were in Leveque, they met a group of Haitians worshiping on one of the hills. They discovered the group was from a village two and a half hours away and that two years ago they felt God calling them to travel to Leveque every Wednesday morning to pray over the community! This photo shows the view from where they pray. 615 homes have now been built in Leveque for families displaced by the earthquake. What an amazing example of the Lord's faithfulness!

Village Champion Retreat

This week we had a retreat for our Village Champions. It was such a great time of reflecting on all that the Lord has done this past year and ended with praying for every village together. We are thankful for these men and women and how they serve their people so faithfully.

"When the Fruit of the Spirit is made manifest in your life, people will gladly follow you because they can see that you are following Jesus." -Pastor Lindor We had another amazing Pastor Training seminar this week! 116 pastors plus 30 Village champions attended! They pray for their village, for their families and for the people of Haiti. These men are seen as leaders in Simonette and are the first people that get called whenever something happens in their village. They work as a family and by doing so, they are able to reach every man, woman and child in their village! We are so proud of them!

Learning English Through the Bible

Our Village Champions are working on learning English, and what better book than the Bible to work from!? We are in need of 50 NIV Bibles. These can either be sent to our FL office, brought with you on your next trip to Haiti, or you can simply provide funds to purchase them online at mohhaiti.org. If you donate funds online, choose "Church Advancement" and add "NIV Bibles" into the "Additional Info" field. Thank you in advance for helping to bring life transformation in such a tangible way!

Indigenous Mobilization

Yesterday was an amazing day! We got to watch our medical translators teach first aid to our village champions. The teaching was great and the students were extremely engaged and asked great questions. We pray this is just the beginning as we hope to roll out our community health curriculum in this same way: Translators teach Village Champions and Village Champions then teach in their villages. It was such a blessing to watch and see our medical team and church advancement team work so well together!

Pastor Kenol is doing a great job working with local pastors and connecting them to the vision of MOH. I loved seeing pastors from multiple denominations and cultures sit together and pray together. Still a long way to go, but this was an encouraging step to see MOH is really starting to learn what does and does not work as we approach the goals of Church Advancement!
