Mirlande Cenatus lost her leg when her home collapsed on her during the earthquake in 2012. Thankfully, her husband and her six children survived and were able to get her to a hospital. Mirlande’s loss of her leg affected her ability to work and run her store in Port-au-Prince, so her family has had to rely on her husband to provide for them financially. Mission of Hope has since been able to fit Mirlande with a custom made prosthetic leg at no cost. God's provision has strengthened Mirlande's faith. Every Tuesday, Mirlande and a group of women from her church go to the hospital in Port-au-Prince to pray over the patients. Mirlande is able to show God’s love and faithfulness by sharing the Gospel. Her favorite verse is Psalms 34:8: “Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.” The ministry of the prosthetics lab not only changed Mirlande’s life by giving her a new limb, but it is now impacting many more lives through Mirlande's ministry.
