The roofs are currently being placed on the new primary school in Bercy...one of the last steps for completing the buildings!  See pictures below.

Below are updated pictures of the new primary school buildings which are under construction on the North Campus (Bercy, Haiti).  These buildings are the first of many to go on this campus (see future plans).  Visiting teams recently painted these school buildings, bringing a sense of excitement and anticipation for the future.  Special thanks to those who gave of their time to bring these school buildings one step closer to completion.

With the addition of the afternoon school at our School of Hope, the need for our sponsorship program is now greater than ever.  In October 2010, approximately 1,000 new students were enrolled. Many of the new students were children who had moved to our area from Port au Prince after the earthquake, as well as children from local villages who had not previously had the opportunity to go to school.  Our sponsorship program is essential to providing a christian education to these children, as well as daily nutrition to keep them healthy and strong.  To learn more about our sponsorship program, please view our child sponsorship page.

Thursday, April 21, will be the third annual Christian Education Conference sponsored by the Mwen Kapab Educational Project. Pastors, school administrators, and teachers have been invited.

Mwen Kapab’s vision is that Christian education is part of God’s plan for Haiti to increase and strengthen His Kingdom. Our goal for the conference is to share this vision and encourage others in Christian education.

The plan for the day includes praise and worship, 4 seminars, lunch, and time to get to know each other better. The four seminars are titled

1.  The recipe for a Christian school

2.  Thinking like a Christian educator

3.  The Living Curriculum (the teacher)

4.  The Mwen Kapab curriculum.
