As an organization following Jesus Christ, Mission of Hope exists to bring life transformation to every man, woman, and child in Haiti. We desire to serve the nation of Haiti, and see lives changed.
After Haiti was devastated by the earthquake on Jan 12, 2010, Mission of Hope continued to see God’s hand in healing families and restoring hope among the people of Haiti. This week, after an earthquake and tsunami struck our neighbors in Japan, our hearts and prayers go out to the people who have been affected by this disaster. We continue to pray for God’s healing and restoration for the country of Japan, and pray that hope will be found through Christ.
A few months ago, a young boy by the name of Micah (age 7) watched a YouTube video of an English boy who had raised $300,000 to help Haiti after the earthquake ravished that country on January 12th, 2010. This video inspired Micah to join forces with his two cousins Kade (age 10) and Kaleb (age 8) and a friend named Casey (age 6) to do something similar.
And so, "Le Tour d'Haiti" was born: a bike ride that they advertised through their local church. The four children formed the board of directors for the charity event. They oversaw all the planning and also designed logos and shirts for the event. Their goal was lofty. They wanted to raise $5,000 to build a home for a family in Haiti.
Due to the children's enthusiasm and planning, Le Tour d'Haiti turned out to be an overwhelming success. It raised 3 times the original goal...a total of $15,000! The children were able to present the money to Mission of Hope, and know that their efforts would bless families in Haiti with new homes.
Mission of Hope is grateful to these children and everyone else who has a heart for Haiti. It is through the generous support of our friends and partners that Mission of Hope is able to serve the nation of Haiti.
To all of our supporters and partners, we want to say, "Thank you!"

Today, January 12, 2011, marks the one year anniversary of the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti. It’s hard to look back and remember the day that so many people lost their lives, loved ones, and belongings. There was not a single person in Haiti who was not affected in some way. At Mission of Hope, we constantly find ourselves referring to events as “pre-” and “post-” earthquake, acknowledging that so much has changed in the country. Yet despite everything that has happened, there is one thing that has remained constant. It is Hope. Hope in the truth of the gospel. Hope that God will restore this country, and gather a people unto himself. Hope that He will instill joy in the lives of people who have bared so much. It is this hope that continues to drive us.
Today is a national holiday for Haiti. Memorials are being held throughout the country for the people to look back and reflect on all that has happened. Mission of Hope held a memorial yesterday for the two School of Hope students and one staff member who lost their lives during the earthquake. Today, Mission of Hope will be holding a church service in the morning from 6:00 -12:00 pm and a memorial/rememberance service tonight from 4:00-7:00 pm. There will also be a memorial service from 8:00-11:00 am at the Presidential Palace led by Mark Driscoll and Churches Helping Churches. Please pray for the people of Haiti today as they remember the past and look toward the future.
