Angelie is Walking!!!

This month, the Village of Hope Orphanage has been an amazing portrayal of God’s healing. The story began in the clinic of Mission Of Hope with a little girl named Angelie.

On May 4th, 2010 a baby girl was abandoned in the clinic at MOH. Angelie appeared to be a very underdeveloped two year old that could not even sit up on her own. She looked somewhat like a rag-doll with her legs flopping across her small stomach. Doctors gave a grim diagnosis that Angelie would never be able to walk on her own. While May 4th was a sad day, it was also the day that the Mission Of Hope Orphanage got to give this precious girl a home. From that day on, Angelie has been surrounded by love and prayers of healing.

Over the next several months, Angelie became famous for her joyful yelling and clapping while scooting across her room. It was obvious nothing would slow her down. The day that she grabbed onto the church pew and pulled herself to her feet was a great picture of her growing strength. As prayers continued, Angelie began to walk while clamping onto whatever or whoever was close by. All of the sudden, God reminded us that nothing was impossible.

Earlier this month, I stopped at the baby house on my way up the hill for lunch. Like any other day, MOH’s five babies were laughing and playing on their front porch. As I sat down next to Angelie, she quickly pushed forward onto her hands and feet then stood upright for a couple seconds before plopping back down. After a round of applause from her mommy and I, we quickly began coaching her to try again. A few minutes later, everyone within earshot came running as the front porch of the baby house erupted in cheering and praise! Angelie is walking!!!!
